3 ways to extend the longevity of your floor cleaning machine 27 Sep, 2017

Every floorcare product has its own lifetime, and regardless of whether you have a carpet extractor or an escalator cleaner, you can undertake certain tasks to ensure you reach your machine’s maximum longevity and protect it from damage.

1. Maintenance

Poorly maintained floorcare equipment can lead to both performance and quality issues, and if left unresolved may cause the machine to break down. However, maintenance is still often overlooked, mostly due to lack of knowledge or differences between cleaning teams.

For a quick guide explaining how you should be cleaning and maintaining your floorcare equipment, click the links below:

2. Replacing Consumables

After every use, consumables such as brushes should be cleared of debris, rinsed with clean water and checked for any signs of wear and tear. You should be replacing consumables regularly to ensure your machine is always providing outstanding cleaning results and excellent productivity.

Although brushes are a key consumable, there are other parts which need to be checked and replaced as necessary. For example with the Multiwash range, there are a few other consumables which should be monitored:

  • Brushes
  • Filters
  • Water pipes
  • Power cords

If you’re unsure about which consumables you should be maintaining on your Truvox machine, or if you need to purchase replacement consumables, call our Service Desk on 02380 706601 or email service@truvox.com

3. Regular Servicing

Regular servicing of your machine provides many benefits and prevents large bills occurring from any unexpected repairs. Having your machines regularly serviced allows service engineers to highlight any parts of your machine that will need to be replaced soon, providing forewarning and allowing you to pre-empt and factor in the associated costs.

Your service engineer may also highlight some neglected areas of the machine, which you should be maintaining, informing you and ensuring you are undertaking all necessary maintenance.

Your machine supplier may be able to arrange a Service for you, or alternatively, you can contact the manufacturer directly: at Truvox, our Trucare Service and Support can arrange ad-hoc servicing and callouts to machine breakdowns, or you can set up an annual maintenance contract.

Undertaking these three points – Maintenance, Replacing Consumables & Regular Servicing - ensures your machine reaches its maximum longevity, and achieves its best value on your initial expenditure.
